Project Scope:
Participate in the initial design of the browser plugin version of an existing website product, as a part of a small UX team. Communicate via the C-suite with the remote dev team.
Solution
A streamlined plugin with full rewards-purchasing and -redeeming access. Account settings and history were decided to be a web-only function that opens in a new tab.
Key Findings:
- The average user is somewhat younger than competitors' target demographics.
- Users did not require extensive features in the plugin, as long as less used features were linked to from the plugin to the full website version.
- Streamlining the plugin resulted in a mirrored redesign of the website as well.
- Designing the plugin revealed that the brand and business model required some fleshing out as well.
